All About Me

Hi, I am Melissa, the maker, creator and designer behind Mavis and Flo.

A few years ago I was determined to learn how to crochet. And I am so glad that I did as it changed my life. I found happiness and flow in each stitch that I created. I knew that I wanted to incorporate my (then) working life as an Early Childhood Teacher with my new found love of crochet. 

I began creating baby + toddler's clothing that were made with natural yarns and materials. I knew that through my 30 years in the early childhood field, that when children feel safe and comfortable they play and explore, and this is where their learning happens. 

I adore making beautiful heirloom clothing that can be passed down through the generations.

Inspired by the positive impact that crochet has had on my own mental health I have now created a variety of Learn to Crochet Kits and Tutorials so others can benefit from this soothing craft.
