What an amazing women. I want to thank Julie Goodwin for writing this book, for many reasons...
I was drawn to the book after listening to Julie talk on a podcast. Listening to Juile frankly discuss how she was trying to be the very best at all things, all of the time; wife, mother, employee, employer, daughter, sister etc, etc. Well lets just say I could relate. As I am sure that many women can relate too. Julie was so honest and candid about everything and I just had to find out more about her story.
Julie's story is so very interesting, what an amazing life she has experienced. As the book (and her story) progresses you can understand how her life was not sustainable. Even as her body and her mind were breaking down, Julie refused to believe that she had any reason to feel the way that she was. The guilt. Oh I could relate to the guilt as well.
I loved Julie's honesty and openness. It was and is, reasuring to know that I was not the only person feeling such presure and stress. I asume that many women feel this way too. I often wish that more women would talk about these issues. And I guess that is why this book resonated so strongly with me. Juile is sharing this deeply personal story to help others. I can say with certanity that her book helped me. Thank you Juile.
As always I borrowed the book from the library (there was a que though, but it is worth the wait). However if you prefer to buy books, the photo above with take you straight to Juile's website. The link to the podcast is below
I would love to hear about what you are reading, please leave a comment below.
And don't forget Sunday's should be about books and/or doing something creative just for yourself.
Happy reading,
Melissa
