My daughter asked me to create a dice bag for her. As it has been along time since she asked me to make her anything, I jumped at the chance.
As I was creating the bag I thought these bags would be perfect for little Christmas gift bags. My other thought was, these bags would be great for using up all my scrap yarns.
So here it goes.
Please let me know if you notice any mistakes. I am human, and just like AI, I can and do make mistakes. I am happy to hear of any suggestions/comments that you may have.
Let’s get started.
Materials;
12 ply yarn or similar (the Yarn Substitutes app is great for finding out different substitutes)
6 mm hook
Needle for threading in the ends
Ribbon, if you don't want to use my pom pom ties pattern
Notes; this pattern has been written in US terminology
Ch 1, ch2, ch3 does count as a stitch for the whole pattern.
Gauge; due to my wonky hands I never have the same gauge for any patterns. So keeping this in mind, there is no gauge for this pattern (I know right?)
Abbreviations;
Chain (ch)
single crochet (sc)
half double crochet(hdc)
double crochet (dc)
increase (inc) work two single crochet into the same stitch.
chain space (ch-sp)

R11. Ch3 (counts as dc) dc round, join to first slst. Cut Yarn and secure. Weave in all ends.
Finished !

Want to Make pom pom ties?
Or if you prefer you could cut ribbon 30cm long and weave though the spaces made in round 9.
To make pom pom ties.
Leave approx 20cm then start ch90. Yarn over hook and insert into 3rd chain from hook, pull yarn up (you now have 3 stitches on the hook). Yarn over pull through 2 (You now have 2 stitch on hook) Yarn over and pull up, (you now have 4 st on hook) pull through all 4 stitches, ch 1 and insert hook into 4th chain from hook, slst, and slst back down remaining ch. until you reach the beginning.
Cut yarn and secure. Thread pom pom tie through the spaces made in round 9. With the long tail, use a needle to weave ends into last stitch a few times to create a pom pom. Cut yarn and weave in ends.
Congratulations your bag is finished!
I can imagine the bag in all colours. And don't forget these would be great to help reduce your yarn stash.
