This pattern is a great introduction to the granny square. Once finished, the blanket measures approximately 84cm x 84cm ~ a lovely size for a lap blanket, or a baby/toddler blanket.
It’s beginner friendly too (and if you’re brand new to crochet, you can start with my free learn to crochet tutorial first).
You can use whatever yarn you prefer, however if you’d like your blanket to turn out a similar size to mine, I recommend using:
For this blanket I used a natural cotton blend (50g balls). If you’re in Australia, I found these yarns at Spotlight:
* 2 x Pink (Brighton Blush Melange)
* 2 x Stone (Flinders)
* 2 x Brown (Brighton)
* 2 x Mustard (Flinders)
One of the best things about granny squares is you don’t need to stress about gauge — you can start crocheting straight away 🤍
