Free Crochet Face Scrubbies, pattern + tutorial

It is getting to that time of year again when we are thinking about gifting. And what better kind of gifting is handmade, made with love? I thought today I would share with you the granny square face scrubbie as it is great for beginners, and it is a great way to use up some of your smaller yarn stash. Make a few of these face scrubbies, tie them with string, pop them into a little calico bag ~ you will have created the most thoughtful gift. Or if you are up to the challenge you could crochet up a little gift bag. It is another free pattern, you can find it here.

Cotton Face Scrubbies

Skill Level; Beginner + Easy

Materials:

This pattern is written in US Terminology.

stitches used:

magic circle

chain stitch (ch)

double crochet (dc)

slip stitch (sl st)

chain space (ch-sp)

Pattern;

Start with a magic circle (or ch6 and join at beginning of circle).

Round 1: Ch4, 3dc into circle, ch2, 3dc into circle, ch2, 3dc into circle, ch2, 2dc,

join with a sl st around ch-4 starting ch. Secure stitch and fasten off.

Round 2: With second colour, attach to ch-sp and ch5, 3dc into same space, [(3dc, ch2, 3dc) into next ch-sp (creating a corner)] 3 times,2dc in first ch-sp, sl st around beginning ch-5. Secure stitch and fasten off.

Round 3: With third colour, attach to corner ch-sp and ch5, 3dc into same space, [3dc into next space between 3dc group, (3dc,ch2,3dc) into corner ch-sp] 3 times, 3dc into

next space between 3dc groups, 2dc in first ch-sp, sl st around beginning ch-5. Fasten off and weave in ends.
